It’s no surprise that a family from the show-me-state of Missouri would love photographs–what better thing to show friends and family for their enjoyment!   So before traveling to the beach from St. Louis, they commissioned me for family beach portraits.

The day got off to an ominous start, as we were literally surrounded by thunderstorms; but we improvised with some portraits under shelter while waiting for the rain to clear then moved to the beach for group shots.   And grand-daughter Katie is a senior this year, so I was glad to take some extra time with her for individual portraits.

It was my privilege to create beach portraits for this beautiful family on Panama City Beach, Florida.  I love meeting such great people and hope to see them again soon.

This doggie didn’t quite know what to think of his first beach experience.

Here’s a portrait made with my new Rosco gels.  I chose a blue gel for the rear strobe and shot it through horizontal wood blinds from the outside.

I took on the challenge of a different genre for a day to provide portfolio images for a national model competition. I was working for Lacy who is a full-time university student, swimsuit model, and aspiring country singer being courted by a major recording label in LA. I’m sure that her amazing vocal talent, tenacious work ethic, and intense determination will set Nashville on fire some day soon.
